I almost forgot to mention - I built a tiny Blogger-like thing called Xavier. It is written in Python and the entire source code (quite tiny) is available at Google Code. It's minimal and missing nearly everything (I did not even add syndication support) that a modern blog has. Once I clean/improve/expand code and features, I will convert my blog over to it.
