Starting from Scratch

So Then I Was All

Music: Doves - There Goes the Fear - The Last Broadcast
Mood: Normal

Why spend so much time cultivating a persona of artistic imperfections, when at the end of the day you crawl into bed and, like the rest of us, sleep with both eyes closed?

North Korea is Fucking With My Resolve

Music: Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars - Eyes Open
Mood: Uncertain

Seriously, this nonsense needs to stop. Two months ago we watched them royally fuck-up a test missile launch, and at the time we were feeling pretty damn proud of our American selves. But whatever you want to call this, political posturing or refusing to back down (whatever gift-wrapping you prefer, I care not) this madness has got to find an end.

I don't mind that North Korea is a rogue nation hell-bent on defying social convention. I really could care less. But testing atomic weaponry over a soverign nation's airspace? Causing underground earthquakes of magnitues above 5.0? Starving half your population while your fascist regime grows increasingly erratic and intoxicated with power? Refusing to engage in bilateral negotiations with trading partners to secure the necessary raw materials for economic stability? Executing refugee's that seek a real life outside your borders? Murdering anyone who speaks out against the 'great leader' and his 'army of riteousness'? Refusing to provide for adequate educational materials for students, banning incoming communications from other nations, implementing censorship over all printed and visual media, forcing young men into slavery as soldiers of the 'great cause', all the while refusing to acknowledge just how fast the ship is sinking.

I'd say, you've got to consider the flaws in that blueprint, no? Two words come to mind, although they don't fit as aptly as you might think, but Khmer Rouge. Try and explore the similarities, you'd be surprised.
