Music: Modest Mouse - Trailer Trash - The Lonesome Crowded West
Mood: Winter-y
I'm reading again, after six months of trepidation. It's a good thing I suppose, but I know I'll do it for a week and then forget about it for an extended period of time; like everything in my life, it's just a phase.
I'll be in New York the later part of the week. Fortunately half of my confidants will be there for some rousing good times. I fear not, even if the weather outside is 'frightful'.
Thanksgiving was fun, as always. Plenty of Turkey, shameless confessions, alcohol, and leftovers. I will be eating Turkey sandwiches for the better part of the next month, so don't mind me if I skip the description here.
Going to be in France in less than a month! I really can't wait to wind-down the year and get some quality relaxation on the books. These past four days have been a good distraction from the insanity of the past six months. But I'm greedy and would love some more.
I think Modest Mouse are a fantastic band. I know I'm really late getting on the proverbial boat, but whatever. If it's good, I will listen to it.
Today, walking around reminded me of Boston. The cool weather, cloudy skies, and looming threat of rain were eerily reminiscent of winter afternoons in the beantown. I felt compelled to get in my white 325 xi, cruise down the pike, and relax on Newbury Street.
One thing I dislike about Los Angeles is the lack of a centralized city location. On the east coast, there is generally one spot in each major city that people congregate within and refer to as the 'city' itself. Los Angeles is so spread out and expansive that we have lots of small parts, but no one base of operations.
I resolve to move to Europe in two years. Maybe the good folks at Merrill Lynch will send me there to work in the London office. Oh the dreams we cling to...

Music: Incubus - Rogues - Light Grenades
Mood: Ecstatic
I'm keeping an eye on the future, an eye on the past
And the present in my pocket just in case I need a door
To a brave new world where all solutions end up in my head
Buried to my neck in sand
Enough, enough bowing down to disillusion
Hats off and applause to rogues and evolution
The ripple effect is too good not to mention
If you're not affected, you're not paying attention
It's too good
It's too good not to have an effect
I'm keeping an eye on the pulse, an ear to the track
And penance in a locket, drop it from the highest floor
When it hits ground I watch it smash to pieces
Songs of liberation echo from the dust, the dust
Enough bowing down to disillusion
Hats off and applause to rogues and revolution
The ripple effect is too good not to mention
If you're not affected, you're not paying attetion
It's too good
It's too good not to have an effect
Enough, enough, enough, enough, enough
Enough, enough, enough, enough
Enough bowing down to disillusion
Hats off and applause to rogues and revolution
The ripple effect is too good not to mention

Music: The Album Leaf - The Light - Into The Blue Again
Mood: Lethargic
It's fall/winter again. Last year, I wrote at length about how much I hate the early darkness. This year, I am ambivalent.
Currently sick, not really medicating though. Just getting by with vitamins and good food.
So amped about Europe this December. Can't wait to kick it with the Russian One, and watch the quality soccer matches.
Currently working on a number of things, in particular developing a presentation for an institutional investor that's only interest is high-risk hedge funds. I've never done this before, so it should be interesting to see how it ends.
No Mas.
Go Lakers. 3-0.
Go Chelski.
