A few blurbs for the road. First, congrats to Perez Hilton for convincing Warner Music to give him an A&R deal. I have no clue how or why he qualifies as an industry expert, nor do I know if he has the eye for talent that he'll obviously need, but hey, well done on securing that $100K salary.
The Presidential debate tonight was terrible. Both Hillary and Obama did the usual song and dance; him with the aloof candor, her with the petulant sarcasm. Sure, she outlined her universal health-care system for seventy-second time, and he reminded us of his opposition to the Iraq invasion yet again. But where was the watershed? I think Chris Matthews summed it up rather well, "she speaks on the issue (health-care) as if we already have a system in place, and with a few tweaks, we'll become Canada. Obama reminds us of his opposition to the Iraq invasion, yet continues to insist that we need to spend more money on strengthening our military might." The hypocrisy exists on all platitudes in my opinion.
The moderators at these events are such star-fuckers. They throw jargon around and occasionally slide a fast-ball in there, but nothing major. All the same, every single time. Look, I get that primary season isn't when you're supposed to bring the 'big guns' out, but I think you have to be naive not to believe that the next President of the United States is being decided in Texas and Ohio next week.
